Union Bank to buy parent of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust. UnionBanCal, the parent of Union Bank (owned by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ) will acquire Pacific Capital Bancorp, which operates Santa Barbara Bank & Trust.
